Grad Fees – Admin
This year, the grad fee will be $100.00 per graduate. ($104.75 with online processing fees)
The fee covers various costs associated with graduation, including things like the grad gown, v-stole, cap and year charm (all or which the students will get to keep!), along with various other graduation ceremony items, supplies, regalia and Safe Grad initiatives. The fee will need to be paid through School Cash Online. The window to pay this fee has opened and will remain open until May 26th. Please direct any grad fee questions to the Vice-Principal attached to your student.
The Virtues Team
The Virtue Of the Week (VOW) for this past week was “JOYFULNESS”.
The Virtue for this coming week (March 27-31) will be “GRATITUDE”.
As Denis Waitley wrote:
“Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed.
Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
Student Parking- Admin
As noted in our FHS Student handbook regarding student parking: students are assigned the parking lot off Priestman Street by the sports fields. The following guidelines apply to all students who park cars on FHS property: 1. For security and protection of personal property, all vehicles must be locked. 2. Parking may only occur in designated areas. Parking on fields/grass, in fire lanes, or other unauthorized areas may result in the loss of parking privileges, fines and/or vehicle towing at the owner’s expense. 3. Students are not permitted to smoke, vape, or eat their lunch in their vehicle while the vehicle is on FHS property. 4. Students are not permitted to loiter in parking lots at any time throughout the school day. 5. Students must refrain from littering in parking lot areas.
Course Selections (Grade 10 & 11)- School Counselling Department
On March 28th (during Period 2) Grade 10 and 11 students will be submitting their course requests on PowerSchool. They should come prepared with their 10 choices (and 2 alternates). Course selection guides were distributed before the March break and have also been posted to our school website and on Homeroom teachers Teams page, along with the PowerPoint presentations. MyBlueprint.ca is an excellent web-based tool to assist students with identifying their strengths, interests, and potential career paths, along with direct links to Canadian post-secondary institutions. It is linked on our FHS website and login information is in the back of our course guide.
Counsellors are available by appointment for consultation/support or students can drop by for a quick question before or after school, during the lunch hour or on a break between classes! If students are unable to book an appointment before Tuesday, please be submit course requests as best they can and counsellors can make edits to the submitted requests once they meet.
Our timetable for next year is built based on student requests so we ask that careful consideration is given to this!
