Production Announcement: (Mr. Dunfield)

Fredericton High School Musical Production was announced yesterday.  We will be doing Disney’s Descendants Nov 20-25, 2023!  For those interested in parts, auditions will be held May 28 (Sunday afternoon), May 29 and May 30 after school in the TMT.  Sign up lists for auditions will be made available closer to that time. Call backs will be held on June 16 (time to be determined).

All students are welcome to participate in production without auditioning.  All that is required to be in the chorus is a commitment in the fall.  Chorus rehearsals will begin the first full week of school in the fall.

There will be an announcement when tickets go on sale at the Playhouse in the near future.

The Virtues Team (Mrs. LaBerge)

The Virtue Of the Week (VOW) for April 17-21 is COURTESY.

The Daily Roar team will record the full description to be included with the morning announcement on Monday, April 17.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote:  “Life is not so short but that there is always time enough for courtesy.”

Grad Class Support – Safe Grad Committee (Mrs. Thompson)

WANT TO HELP SUPPORT SAFE GRAD 2023? https://anglowest.schoolcashonline.com/

Please Note: Income tax receipts can be issued for any donation over $50.

You can donate any dollar amount on cashless schools – an account has been opened that goes directly to the Grad class. Thank you in advance!

Safe Grad will be held on Monday, June 19th (after Prom) at FHS.  We have a night planned with many activities, food, prizes, etc.  To make this event a success, we are asking for community support.  Whether you have a 2023 graduate or future graduate we appreciate any donation.

Also, any other contribution towards this event would be greatly appreciated (i.e.: in the past, we have had draws where we have given out prizes to grads such as gift cards, college/university dorm/apt supplies, etc.). Last year we had several baskets worth over $500 each of items to support Grads with their future endeavors.  Feel free to email Michaela Miller (Michaela.Miller@nbed.nb.ca)  if you are interested in contributing.  We can arrange drop off/pick-up.

FHS Grad Class Presents – MARDI GRAS (Mrs. Miller)

Come one, come all to the event you’ve all been waiting for! It’s time for the revival of a FHS tradition – MARDI GRAS!

Prepare for an evening of entertainment and laughter while watching some of your grads dance their hearts out, wow you with some of their finest talents, and strut their stuff on the catwalk.

The event will take place on Thursday, May 11th at 7pm in the Tom Morrison Theatre here at FHS.

Tickets will go on sale starting Monday April 17th on SchoolCash Online and in the caf at lunch. Tickets will cost $12.

Tickets will only be sold at the door IF the event does not sell out in advance (It will definitely sell out, so get your tickets while you can!)

This event is open to all grade levels as well as the public.

We can’t wait to see you all there!

Kats’ Kitchen Chili Fundraiser (Mrs. Lukings)

Would you like to have a delicious meal that you don’t have to cook yourself, while also supporting FHS?  With the support of the New Maryland Lions Club, Kats’ Kitchen is having a Chili Fundraiser on Saturday, April 22nd from 3:30 – 6:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church (525 New Maryland Highway).  This drive-thru event makes it easy to get a delicious meal for as many people as you need, all while supporting a great cause. There will be vegetarian options, along with delicious cornbread and cookies with every meal.  Cost is by donation and proceeds go to student hunger programs at FHS, as well as BCMS and NMES.  See attached poster for details.  If you have any questions, contact Jennifer Lukings (Jennifer.Lukings@nbed.nb.ca).  Come early so you don’t miss out!
